Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong and Chilean President Sebastián Piñera Echenique on March 24 exchanged their messages of congratulations on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries (March 25, 1971-2021).

Hanoi (VNA) –Vietnamese Party General Secretary and🅷 State President Nguyen Phu Trong andChilean President Sebastián Piñera Echenique on March 24 exchanged their messagesof congratulations on the occasion of the 50th fou꧟nding anniversary of diplomaticties between the two countries (March 25, 1971-2021).
“The Vietnam-Chile relations have seen firm and intensive development during half a century with many ups and downs in history. Based on this positive foundation, the State, Government and peole of Vietnam will continue to work with Chilean friends and partners to expand and deepen the Vietnam-Chile friendship and comprehensive cooperation, thus serving the interest of the two countries’ people and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in both regions,” the message of Nguyen Phu Trong read. In his message, the Chilean President expressed admiration of the bravery and strength of Vietnam in the cause of national development as well as the hospitality and pride of the Vietnamese people. “ Chile and Vietnam have built a firm relationship with cooperation, mutual trust and the will to bolster bilateral ties in not only economy-trade but also other aspects,” he wrote. He stressed that the bilateral cooperation will continue to be promoted, thus strongly supporting the cooperative ties between Vietnam and the Latin America, and between Chile and Southeast Asia. The same day, Deputy PrimeMinister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh also exchanged acongratulatory message with Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrés AllamandZavala./.
Chile established diplomatic relations with Vietnam on March 25, 1971, becoming the first South American country to set up diplomatic ties with the Southeast Asian nation. Over the past 50 years, although geographically far apart, Vietnam and Chile have developed a good traditional friendship and cooperation, being comprehensive partners in many fields.
Vietnam and Chile - the first Southern American nation to set up diplomatic ties with Vietnam - have nurtured and preserved their sound cooperative relations and traditional friendship as well as comprehensive development partnership over the past five decades.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the VPA’s General Staff and Deputy Minister of National Defence reaffirmed Vietnam’s unwavering gratitude for Cuba’s invaluable support during its struggle for independence and nation-building efforts, and pledged to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Cuba as it navigates current challenges.

Known as the “four pillars for Vietnam’s ascend”, the Pobiburo's Resolutions 57, 59, 66, and 68 focus on cultivating a robust national entrepreneurial spirit, unlocking resources for innovation across society, and accelerating the development of digital economy, knowledge-based economy, green economy, and circular economy, propelling Vietnam forward rapidly and firmly on the path of modernisation and international integration.
Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang cleared up deputies' concern regarding how to spur socio-economic growth, renew traditional growth motives and establish new momentum for development.
