Vietnamese, Chinese youths join hands to preserve friendship tradition

Hanoi (VNA) – The youth of Vietnam and China will strengthen cooperation and enhance exchange activities, contributing to concretising the perceptions reached by high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and States for peace, stability, and development of each country, and for the bright future of the Vietnamese and Chinese youths, heads of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) and the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) agreed at their talks in Hanoi on April 13.

🅘 Speaking at event, which was held as part of the 24th Vietnam-China youth friendship meeting, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the HCYU Bui Quang Huy underscored the robust cooperation between the two organisations, helping nurture the traditional friendship between the two countries' people while bolstering the Vietnam – China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a stable manner under the motto of “friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, and looking towards the future.”

Following the positive cooperation results between the two organisations, particularly after signing the 2024-2027 cooperation document, Huy proposed several key areas for future collaboration. These include promoting education for young people about the traditional friendship between the two Parties and countries through diverse methods, organising online interaction and exchange activities, and encouraging youths to promote the positive Vietnam-China relationship.

ꦜ Huy highlighted the "red journey for youth research and learning” initiative, expressing his hope that both sides will effectively utilise historical "red" landmarks and sites in the two countries, designing meaningful activities for young people to deepen their understanding of the revolutionary process and mutual support between the two Parties and countries.

First Secretary of the CYLC Central Committee A Dong, for his part, spoke highly of the Vietnam-China youth friendship meeting, stressing its contributions to enhancing understanding, building trust, and fostering substantive cooperation between the youth of the two countries.

🧸 He affirmed that the relationship of "good comrades" between the two Parties and countries provides a solid foundation for the youth organisations to continue expanding diverse exchange activities in both form and content. He suggested expanding youth exchanges between border provinces such as Guangxi and Yunnan (China) with northern localities in Vietnam, noting these regions have a long-standing basis of cooperation and play an important role in maintaining people-to-people relations./.
