Algiers (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeriaon November 6 presented certificates of merit to a number of local filmmakersand reporters in honour of their contributions to raising public awarenessabout Vietnam and ties between the two countries.
The honorees were four members of Lotus Film Production,including executive director Mohamed Zakari Digeur, producer Samir Lezzoum,cameraman Abdehamid Aktouf, and sound expert Djamal Bouhafs; along with journalistAit Mahieddine Yazid from state broadcaster Algeria ENTV and reporter BilalLerari from El Hayat, one of the private TV channels with the largest numbersof audiences.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria PhamQuoc Tru wished that the filmmakers and journalists would continue supportingthe embassy in communications work in the future.
Producer Lezzoum expressed his readiness to partner with theembassy on upcoming work.
In collaboration with the embassy and Vietnamese agenciesconcerned, the Lotus Film Production filmed the documentary entitled “Vietnam,precious gem of Asia” early this year, which premiered on the occasion of the74th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).
The film has both French and Arabian versions and will bescreened on several State and private television channels in Algeria.
Dossier has also been prepared to send the documentary toregional and international film festivals.
Journalist Yazid expressed his impression about Vietnam’sachievements during the renovation process, which he said, inspired him towrite comments for the film.
Reporter Lerari, for his part, actively covered activitiesof the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria as well as relations between the twonations./.
