Vietnamese officers, nurses update about first aid

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Peacekeeping Centre has coordinated withMilitary Hospital 175 and partners from Australia and the US to open a trainingcourse on first aid by air and trauma care for officers and nurses at thesecond-level field hospital.
Australian experts shared experience in firstaid by air of the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan and instructedtrainees to practise a flight to improve their capacity in the field.
Meanwhile, US specialists will provide guidanceon trauma care.
After completing the course from October30-November 5, the trainees will take an exam to get the International TraumaLife Support (ITLS) certificate and prepare for joining the UN peacekeepingmission.
Vietnam’s first field hospital model is set to join theUnited Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan in 2018.
Vietnam has been actively participating in the UN peacekeeping operations inrecent years. Since 2014, the country has sent 19 officers to the UNpeacekeeping missions in South Sudan and the Central African Republic.-VNA

The Vietnam Peacekeeping Centre (VPC) and the HCM City-based Military Hospital 175 wrapped up a programme on level-2 field hospital equipment practical training on September 19.
Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh had meeting with UN Deputy Secretary General and Head of the DPKO Jean-Pierre Lacroix and Director of the UNMAS Agnes Marcaillou in New York, on October 13.

In recent decades, Vietnam’s mainstream media has become a reliable and persuasive channel for showcasing the nation’s development policies and achievements, especially in economic matters, according to a senior assistant editor at the Times of India.
A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
