Vietnamese students successful at int’l Russian language contest

All five students in the Vietnamese team won high prizes at the 13th international Russian language contest that took place in Moscow from June 6-11.
All five students in the Vietnamese team won high prizes at the 13thinternational Russian language contest that took place in Moscow fromJune 6-11.

Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet from Le HongPhong high school in northern Nam Dinh province, Nghiem Ba Tri fromHanoi-Amsterdam high school and Do Anh Tung from Nguyen Hue high school,both in Hanoi shared the highest prize of the contest.

The other two students were awarded with the second prize.

Nguyet also won the first prize in eloquence category, while Tri bagged first prize in poetry reading category.

The contest, which was held on the occasion of the “International Dayof Russian” and the 215 th birthday of great poet Alexander Pushkin,attracted the participation of 206 high school students from 29countries across the world.

It is organised every four years by the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, with the first event held in 1972.

Winners of the contest will be accepted to Russian universities without having to take an entrance exam.-VNA
