Hanoi (VNA) – The Taiwan Textile Roadshow has been held from October 6-7 directly inHanoi and in the online format via Zoom, aiming to strengthen cooperation betweenVietnam and Taiwan (China) in the textile and garment sector.

The event, jointlyheld by the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) and the Vietnam National Trade Fairand Advertising Company (Vinexad), saw the participation of 12 textilemanufacturers from Taiwan.

The Taiwaneseenterprises have introduced techniques to produce fabric using dyeing treatments thatcan reduce the impact on the environment. They have also applied innovativetechnologies in production to produce fabrics with many outstandingfeatures such as fabric from recycled plastic, warp-print fabric, antibacterialfabric, UV protection fabric, cooling and multi-functional fabric.

In 2020, Vietnam wasTaiwan's largest textile and garment export market with an export turnover ofup to 1.9 billion USD, accounting for 25.3 percent of Taiwan’s total exportturnover of textiles and garments. The main import items from Vietnam wereclothing and accessories.

This year, the TaiwanTextile Roadshow targets the formation and strengthening of sustainable partnershipbetween garment and textile material production firms with Vietnamese garmentand textile firms.

Earlier, similarevents were held in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, including nearly 400 direct andonline exchanges among 100 Vietnamese and 16 Taiwanese businesses in the field./.
