Vietnam’s first university takes international quality verification
The University of Science under the Vietnam National University has become the first in Vietnam to undergo quality assessment based on the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance standard.
Hanoi (VNA) – TheUniversity of Science under the Vietnam National University - Hanoi (VNUUniversity of Science) has become the first in Vietnam to undergo qualityverification based on the ASEAN University Network - Quality Assurance(AUN-QA) standard.
The verification process waslaunched at a ceremony on January 16.
The VNU University of Scienceis also the first university in Southeast Asia to take the AUN-QA examination.
Addressing the event, NantanaGajaseni, AUN General Executive Director said theaccreditation programme at the university level aims to comprehensively assessthe quality of training and research in the educational institution, and evaluatethe efficiency of its internal quality assurance system.
The application of the standards is aimed at improving the quality ofuniversities in the Southeast Asian region.
The five-day programme was joined by educational experts and managers from universitiesin the region.
In 2012-2015, the VNU University of Science had six bachelor trainingprogrammes verified under the AUN-QA standard,which are the majors of chemistry, biology, mathematics, physics, geology and environmentalscience. Of which, the training programmes in chemistry and geology got 5.0marks – the second highest score in Southeast Asia.
After the assessment programmes of training programmes in universities, this isthe first time the AUN has carried out the accreditation at theuniversity-level.-VNA
The Ministry of Education and Training on July 26 encouraged universities to try to meet the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) criteria for quality assessment.
Can Tho University, a member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN), announced that its biotechnology and aquatic farming training programmes have recently been accredited as AUN - Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) programmes.
The ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance’s (AUN-QA) set of criteria for university quality assessment was officially launched by the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNUH) on July 19.

PM Chinh lauded the press’s historic role in the nation’s fight for independence and its ongoing process of national development, affirming that the Government always highly appreciates the close partnership and steadfast support of press agencies and journalists nationwide.
In recent decades, Vietnam’s mainstream media has become a reliable and persuasive channel for showcasing the nation’s development policies and achievements, especially in economic matters, according to a senior assistant editor at the Times of India.
A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
The official launch of Emirates’ Dubai–Da Nang route on June 2 has sparked a “tourism revolution” for Vietnam’s central coastal city. Da Nang is emerging as a top destination for high-end travelers, particularly from the lucrative Middle Eastern market.
