Vietnam’s rubber export value sees surge in four months
Vietnam exported 486,000 tonnes of rubbers worth 817 million USD in the first four months of 2021, up 79.6 percent in volume and 111.6 percent in value compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In April alone, the country shipped an estimated 80,000 tonnes of rubber abroad,earning 143 million USD.
China, India and the US were the largest importers of Vietnamese rubber in thefirst three months of the year, accounting for 64.2 percent, 5.1 percent, and2.7 percent of Vietnam’s total export volume.
The export price of rubber reached averagely 1,660 USD per tonne in the firstthree months of the year, up 14.1 percent year-on-year.
Vietnam has the fifth largest rubbercultivation area in the world, but its output ranked third, only after Thailandand Indonesia.
It has exported mainly raw material of latex,accounting for about 78.4 percent. The rest (21.6 percent) has been processedproducts such as tires, gloves, accessories and soles of shoes./.
Vietnam ranked the world's third largest natural rubber producer and the fourth largest exporter following Thailand , Indonesia and Malaysia in 2013. Currently, when the rubber supply exceeds the demand, Vietnam needs to enhance the competitive edge to be able to maintain its rank in the global market, the Vietnam Business Forum Magazine (VBF) reported.
Vietnam shipped abroad an estimated 193,000 tonnes of rubber for 392 million USD in the first two months of this year, up 25.4 percent in volume and 2.4 times in value year-on-year.
Vietnam earned 1.38 billion USD from exporting more than 800,000 tonnes of rubber in the first eight months of 2017, year-on-year rise of 54.1 percent in value and 12.8 percent in volume.
Vietnam earned more than 2 billion USD from exporting 1.2 million tonnes of rubber during January-November, up 39 percent in value and 8.4 percent in volume, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
