Vietnam’s sea image gets set for higher profile

An international seminar on promoting Vietnam’s sea image opened in the central province of Binh Thuan on March 18, with 100 experts and managers from foreign and domestic travel agents taking part.
An international seminar on promoting Vietnam’s sea image opened in thecentral province of Binh Thuan on March 18, with 100 experts andmanagers from foreign and domestic travel agents taking part.

The event offered a chance for travel agents and localities todevelop sea tourism in a synchronised manner towards building Vietnam’ssea profile in the world as well as to help experts and businessesexchange experiences and seek cooperation opportunities.

PhamThi Diep, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Administrationof Tourism said that with a coastline of over 3,260 km and over 2,700islands, sea and island tourism accounts for 70 percent of the tourismsector’s activities and is considered one of five breakthrough steps fordeveloping maritime and coastal economies.

Theparticipants also discussed the development of high quality sea andisland tourism as a priority, the role of community in the developmentof the tourism image, as well as the quality of sea tourism products.

Concluding the event, experts agreed on solutions todevelop sea travel products for each of Vietnam’s coastal regions,develop human resources, strengthen cooperation among coastal localitieswith tourism neighborhoods and boost international cooperation andinvestment./.
