A project aiming to help enhance the capacity of Vietnam’s supportindustry to meet the requirements of the European market was launched ata workshop in Hanoi on November 5.
The project targetsVietnamese small-and-medium-size enterprises and will be implemented inHanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and several other provinces until June 2017 witha budget of nearly 413,000 EUR, of which the EU funds 371,000 EUR.It is part of the European Trade Policy and Investment Support Project(EU-MUTRAP).
Ho Le Nghia, Deputy Director of Industrial Policyand Strategy Institute, noted that the government has prioritised thedevelopment of the support industry with a view to ensuring provisionfor other domestic industrial sectors and playing a greater role in theglobal supply chain.
He said not only domestic enterprises but also European and international customers will benefit from the project.
According to Director of Supporting Industry Enterprise DevelopmentCentre Truong Thi Chi Binh, the programme entails a series of practicalactivities such as conducting research on local makers’ capacity;launching training courses on technical knowledge and quality-managementskills; and supporting Vietnam’s businesses to attend relevantexhibitions overseas.-VNA
