Vietnam’s tourism, trade potential popularised in Israel

Vietnam’s tourism and farm produce trade potential was introduced to Israeli partners at a seminar held in Tel Aviv on June 15, aiming to boost bilateral partnerships in these areas.

Tel Aviv (VNA) – Vietnam’stourism and farm produce trade potential was introduced to Israeli partnersat a seminar held in Tel Aviv on June 15, aiming to boost bilateral partnershipsin these areas.

Ambassador Ly Duc Trung said Vietnam boasts much room for receivinginvestment and promoting production. Coming to the country, Israeli people andenterprises can access diverse material sources, travel companies can organiseagro-tourism trips, while investors can help raise local agricultural products’value.

He suggested tech firms ofIsrael introduce advanced technologies and techniques to help Vietnam improve theagricultural production capacity, noting that with high technology appliedfurther, farm produce will have higher added value and competitiveness whenbeing exported to regional and global markets.

Expressing their wish to tapinto bilateral cooperation potential in trade and tourism, other participantsin the event pointed out that Israeli people are eager to visit Vietnam as theSoutheast Asian country has put the COVID-19 pandemic under control andcompletely reopened tourism.

Meanwhile, Israel possessesmany technologies, mostly those related to agricultural production and foodprocessing, that Vietnamese businesses need.

Or Nehushtan, arepresentative of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, considered bilateraltourism potential huge, saying the potential will become even greater once thepandemic is over.

In terms of bilateral trade,he noted not many Israeli companies have learnt about what Vietnam has, andthat trade potential is considerable, not only for tea and coffee - theproducts Vietnam has long been famous for - but also for all other commodities.

The two sides are acceleratingtalks on some important deals such as a free trade agreement and another onlabour cooperation, and deliberating a direct air route. Israel is alsoincreasing assistance for businesses and startups of Vietnam.

In 2021, bilateral tradestill grew despite COVID-19 impacts, turning Vietnam into the largest tradingpartner of Israel in Southeast Asia./.
