The military-run telecom provider Viettel has been valued at 3.178 billion USD by the world’s leading business valuation consultant Brand Finance.

Hanoi (VNA) – The military-run telecom providerViettel has been valued at 3.178 billion USD by the world’s leading businessvaluation consultant Brand Finance.

In the list of top 50 brands in Vietnam in 2018 recentlyannounced by the Brand Finance, Viettel’s valuation rose by 23.7 percent from2017, equaling the total value of those ranking second and third in the list.

Also in its list of the world’s 300 valuable telecom brands,Viettel ranked 47th, up one place from 2017, equivalent to Singtel –the top in Singapore and Ooredoo – the number one in the Middle East.

The year 2018 marked a milestone for Viettel when it foundedtelecom, cyber security and high-tech defence industries and declared to embarkon the fourth development stage with the goal of going global and pioneering inthe fourth industrial revolution.

Viettel hasa significant presence in 12 countries and a customer base with more than 85million subscribers across Asia, Africa and America.
It has alsoinvested in research, manufacturing and successful commercialisation ofstrategic weapons, high-tech military equipment and telecom networkequipment.-VNA
