Vingroup to grant 1,100 scholarships for overseas studies

Vietnam’s leading real estate and retail conglomerate Vingroup has announced a Science and Technology Scholarship Programme for Overseas Study for Master’s and Doctoral Degrees for talented students.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s leading real estate and retail conglomerateVingroup has announced aScience and Technology Scholarship Programme for Overseas Study for Master’sand Doctoral Degrees for talented students.

The group will provide 1,100 fully fundedscholarships for Vietnamese students to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees incountries with leading science and technology institutes such as the US,Russia, France and Israel.

The programme will run until2030. The recipients will study in priority fields including artificialintelligence, big data, machine learning, cloud computing, informationsecurity, cryptology and renewable energy.

Theobjectives of the programme are to find talented Vietnamese to mentor anddevelop them and provide rewarding opportunities so that they have the abilityto lead and advance science and technology in Vietnam in the future.

Thescholarship is open to all Vietnamese applicants who are patriotic, talented,resilient, and passionate about contributing to the development of science andtechnology in Vietnam. Applicants must not be over 30 years of age at the timethey start their master’s degrees and under 35 for the doctoral level.

Vingroup will cover allthe expenses incurred during the master’s programmes, including tuition fees,living expenses, round trip airfares and insurance.

Informationon employment, internship, and research opportunities or research projects inVietnam will be regularly updated to recipients so once they return to thecountry, they can fully optimise their talents and capabilities.

LeMai Lan, Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup and Executive Director of theVinUniversity Project, said there was a great demand for high-quality humanresources in the field of science and technology.

“Westrongly believe that the programme will contribute to creating generations ofhigh-quality Vietnamese talents, positioning Vietnam better in the world’stechnology map and heading towards global competition,” she said.-VNA
