VN’s tourism potential introduced in Japan

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines organised a workshop to introduce a programme entitled “Four countries, one destination” in Nagoya city of Aichi prefecture on Oct. 11 as part of its efforts to promote Vietnam ’s image, culture and tourism potential in Japan .

Speaking at the event, Governor of Aichiprefecture Hideaki Omura said that Laos , Cambodia , Myanmar andVietnam are attractive destinations to international tourists andJapanese visitors in particular. Regarding theeconomic cooperation between Aichi prefecture and Vietnam , thegovernor said Aichi and the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning andInvestment signed a memorandum of understanding in 2008 to increase theflow of investment from Aichi prefecture in Vietnam .
Around 60 businesses from Aichi are investing in the Southeast Asian country, he added. Hideaki Omura expressed his hope that Vietnam Airlines will increaseflights between Aichi prefecture and Vietnam in order to boostexchanges between the two countries.
VietnamAmbassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh noted that Japanese tourists toVietnam would find it easy to travel to Laos , Cambodia andMyanmar via flights of Vietnam Airlines and Japanese airlines. Two days earlier, Vietnam Airlines also hosted a similar seminar and the Vietnam Roadshow 2011 in Osaka city./.
