Voters satisfied with NA’s ninth session

Nguyen Phuong Thaofrom the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs saidthat 11 draft laws adopted and 15 others scrutinised during the sessionare a huge quantity of works, reflecting the enthusiasm and sense ofresponsibility of deputies.

She appreciatedQ&A sessions with Government officials, noting that even tinymatters relating to farmers’ livelihoods were also tabled fordiscussion.

Voter Tran Quang Thang, head of theHo Chi Minh City’s Institute for Economic Research and Management, saidthat the quality of the ninth session was improved compared to theprevious ones. The law making process also saw many changes for thebetter, following international practices, which is an appropriatechange in the integration process.

He took noteof the lively discussions outside the meeting room, saying that throughsuch debates, NA deputies could reflect public opinions in a full andclearer manner.

Meanwhile, voter Vo Van Truongfrom Tam Ky city of central Quang Nam province said that during thesession, lawmakers put up many straightforward questions involvingurgent issues of public concerns, including the Long Thanh airportproject, migration in the Central Highlands region and deforestation forbuilding hydro-power plants.

However, severalministers did not give direct answers to these queries, he said,suggesting the chair of each session should require Cabinet members tomake brief but accurate and go-to-the –point answers.-VNA
