WEF Executive Director meets Vietnamese leaders

Executive Director of the World Economic Forum Philipp Rosler agreed with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s proposal to communicate Vietnam’s image to the world at WEF forums during their meeting in Hanoi on July 22.

Executive Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Philipp Rosleragreed with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s proposal to communicateVietnam’s image to the world at WEF forums during their meeting in Hanoion July 22.

Rosler hoped that Vietnam wouldcontinue engaging in WEF activities while expressing support for thecountry’s initiative to hold the WEF-Mekong Conference 2016.

He also wished that Vietnam would consider hosting the WEF on East Asia in the future.

The PM, for his part, stated Vietnam’s commitment to joining WEF-initiated activities.

He also asked the WEF to help Vietnam improve its competitiveness andbusiness climate and promote sustainable farming.

At a reception for Rosler the same day, Deputy Prime Minister andForeign Minister Pham Binh Minh congratulated the WEF on beingrecognised as an International Institution for Public-PrivateCooperation by the Swiss government, hoping that the WEF, with its newstatus, would continue promoting public-private partnerships in globaleconomic affairs.

Vietnam is willing to fostercoordination with the WEF in fields of shared interest, includingeconomic development and national competitiveness improvement, Minhsaid.

The host also urged WEF efforts to encourageconglomerates and experts to do business in and share experience withVietnam.-VNA
