The gift market is becoming busy, offering a wide range of gifts and services to satisfy all kinds of needs in response to Vietnamese Women's Day, which falls on October 20. Since flowers remain among the most popular gifts on the occasion, florists are offering flower baskets at prices ranging from a few hundred thousand dong to over 1 million VND (44.7 USD). But prices have not increased much compared to normal days, they assured. An employee of a flower shop on Hai Ba Trung Street in HCM City's District 3 said the most popular flower baskets were those priced at 200,000-300,000 VND (8.9-13.3 USD), with only a few ordering those costing 500,000 VND (22.3 USD) and above.
Supermarkets and malls have launched programmes to attract customers. SC VivoCity shopping mall and cosmetics brands like THEFACESHOP, Sheryn and SkinFood are offering consultation on skincare and makeup from October 17 to 20.
