Work on Tan Son Nhat airport’s terminal T3 to begin in December
Construction of passenger terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City will start in December, according to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).
Hanoi (VNA) – Construction of passenger terminal T3 of Tan SonNhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City will start in December,according to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).
Le Quyet Tien, Deputy Director of the Transport Ministry’s TransportEngineering Construction and Quality Management Bureau, said on October28 that the ACV has completed a feasibility study report and plans to approvethe project in early November 2021.
The construction is expected to complete in 24 months so asto help raise the capacity of Tan Son Nhat – the largest airport in thecountry, address traffic congestion in its vicinity, and fuel economic andtourism development in HCM City and other southern localities.
The project is invested with a total of about 10.99 trillionVND (478 million USD) by the ACV.
Once operational, Terminal T3 will be able to serve up to 20million passengers annually, according to the Prime Minister’s Decision657/QD-TTg, dated May 19, 2020, that gave the green light to the project.
The new facility will handle domestic flights, thus helpingto ease pressure on Terminal T1 that is currently overloaded and to improveservice quality./.
