World Hemophilia Day 2015 marked in Vietnam

The World Hemophilia Day 2015 was marked in Hanoi on April 11 following a meeting organised by the Vietnam Hemophilia Association (VHA) in collaboration with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.

TheWorld Hemophilia Day 2015 was organised to raise awareness aboutbleeding disorder and the need to build a family of support for thoseliving with it.

According to Nguyen Anh Tri, VHAChairman, people living with hemophilia can have a stable life andmake contributions to society if they are diagnosed and treated earlyalong with the help from the community.

Vietnamcurrently have around 6,000 hemophilia patients and only 40 percent ofthem are discovered and treated on a regular basis, Tri said.

There is significant progress in treating the hemophilia in Vietnamthanks to improved diagnose and treatment quality, he added.-VNA

A 2023 report by the Vietnam Health Economics Association estimated that the total cost of tobacco-related healthcare and economic losses reached 108 trillion VND (4.14 billion USD) annually – equivalent to 1.14% of GDP and five times higher than the budget revenue generated by the tobacco industry.

🥃 Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
