300 athletes compete at 2024 Hanoi Open Roller Clubs Championship

The 2024 Hanoi Open Roller Clubs Championship took place on August 4 with the participation of more than 300 athletes from 30 clubs across Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA🍒) – The 2024 Hanoi Open Roller Clubs Championship took place on August 4 with the participation of more than 300 athletes from 30 clubs across Vietnam.

They competed in the events of speed skating, sprint, slide, fish speed slalom, speed slalom, classic freestyle slalom, and skateboarding, vying for 42 sets of medals. Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said the tournament looked to provide an opportunity for athletes of all ages and clubs to learn from each other, and compete in a professional environment.
It also aimed to encourage a healthy lifestyle and help improve the physical and mental well-being of Vietnamese youth, he said. Additionally, the one-day event aimed to promote the practice and competition of roller sports in Hanoi and across the country while seeking new talents for the city's and national teams, he went on.
Nguyen Thi Hue, Director of Centosy Vietnam Co. Ltd - a sponsor of roller sports tournaments, said that the company is proud to have accompanied the event for years. She added it is committed to continuing its support for the championship to help popularise this exciting sport among people and fans in Hanoi and nationwide./.
