Lam Dong (VNA) - The 7th Da Lat Flower Festival wrapped up at LamVien Square, Da Lat city, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong  on December 27.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee VoNgoc Hiep praised contributions made by organisations and individuals, as wellas locals to the success of the festival.

Including 16 major programmes and 14 related events, the festival was organisedprofessionally with various contents and new ideas, he said.

The five-day festival featured a fashion week of locally-made silk “ao dai”(traditional Vietnamese dress), an art performance, exhibitions of Da Latflowers and tea and flower spaces surrounding Xuan Huong lake and on severalstreets.

A series of workshops were also held within the framework of the festival to attractinvestment to and promote tourism in Da Lat and Bao Loc cities.
 
More than 700 litres of free wine were served at the event, attracting theparticipation of thousands of locals and tourists.

A photo exhibitionhighlighting the beauty of the Central Highlands and central coastal regiond wasalso included.

Themed “Da Lat Flowers - A Miracle from the Good Earth” , this year’s festival contributedto promoting the branding of flowers and tourism in Da Lat and introducingtraditional tea and silk products of the province.-VNA
