Hanoi (VNA) - Tape Art Collective, a group of young German artists basedin Berlin, will introduce their unique performances in HCM City and Hanoi fromDecember 14 to 18.

Inspiredby the possibility to create something new out of an everyday object, the groupmostly works with tape as a medium since 2011. With roots in the urban artmovement, their work ranges from complex and colourful tape and lightinstallations to minimalist black and white murals.

Theirtape artworks can be found in a variety of places, such as undergroundnightclubs, abandoned buildings, showrooms and galleries.

Whilefocused on Berlin, Tape is active in many other cities, nationally andinternationally, with recent and ongoing projects in Egypt, Spain, Qatar,Bulgaria and the UK.

"Wecreate artworks made solely out of adhesive tape - tapes of all colours, sizesand materials. Our artworks range from room-filling installations to abstractstructures combined with light projections and classical tape art murals. Westrive to push the boundaries of what most people perceive possible to do withordinary tape,” the artists say on their website.

Sincetape art is a very young art form, people are amazed by the idea itself and theability to witness the creative process first hand. The group often createsartworks in live performances with the audience given a chance to interact withthe artists and to follow the progress of the work.

Onlythree of its six members are in Vietnam - Stephan Meissner, Stefan Busch andNicolas Lawin. Yesterday they organised a workshop with 30 participants at HanoiCreative City, showing them how to develop ideas and create artworks.
