– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed to issue an official dispatch directing ministries, sectors, and localities to effectively implement the Land Law, Housing Law, and Real Estate Business Law, all of which came into force simultaneously on August 1.

To ensure that these new laws are well applied in practice, driving socio-economic development and fostering a favourable business climate for enterprises and citizens, the PM has outlined several immediate tasks in the official dispatch.Read full story

- The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee debated the draft Law on Value Added Tax (revised) at its thematic session on law building on August 14.

According to Chairman of the NA's Committee for Finance - Budget Le Quang Manh, the bill has four chapters and 18 articles, with many new contents.Read full story

- General Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohammad bin Ab Rahman, Chief of Malaysia’s Defence Force is paying an official visit to Vietnam from August 13-16, at an invitation of Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and Deputy Minister of National Defence.

- Following positive results in import-export activities so far this year, the increasing demand in the last months of the year is predicted to fuel exports, according to experts.

In January - July, many key agricultural products enjoyed a good harvest and good prices. Most of the products in this group achieved double-digit export growth compared to the same period last year, including coffee with a growth rate of 30.9%, rice 25.1%, tea 34.8%, vegetables and fruits 24.3%, cashew nuts 22.1%, peppercorn 46.3%, and cassava and cassava products 12.5%.Read full story

– Nearly 500 dance artists from nine countries will participate in the International Dance Festival 2024 to be held in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue from August 17-22, the Performing Arts Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on August 13.
