– Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang held talks with his Singaporean counterpart Chan Chun Sing in Hanoi on July 22, discussing ways to strengthen defence cooperation.

At the event, which took place following the welcome ceremony for the Singaporean official, Giang laid stress on the robust friendship between Vietnam and Singapore, both of which are active members of the ASEAN community and have shared strategic interests. He described the upgrade of the bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2025 as a historic milestone, opening up a new chapter in bilateral relations, including defence cooperation. – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s upcoming official visit to Morocco at the invitation of Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami is a testament to the genuine political will shared by both nations to reinforce and expand the Vietnam – Morocco partnership.

– The National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (ANPP) always attaches great importance to promoting cooperation with Vietnam’s National Assembly, said ANPP Secretary Homero Acosta Álvarez.

– Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Pham Hung Tam had a meeting in Canberra on July 21 with Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn, who appreciated Vietnam’s outstanding socio-economic development achievements.

Governor-General Mostyn voiced her strong support for promoting high-level and all-level exchanges between the two countries, and proposed enhancing the sharing of experiences on gender equality, and strengthening people-to-people exchanges, and cultural and tourism cooperation. – Van Don and Cat Bi international airports in Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city, repspectivley, reopened for flights starting from 12 pm on July 22, according to Uong Viet Dung, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

The airports have now met the conditions required to resume aircraft operations, Dung said, however noting that the CAAV continues to ask the airports to strictly comply with regulations on aircraft operations under adverse weather conditions to ensure absolute safety. Read full story

– Vietnam has made a significant leap on the global artificial intelligence (AI) map, ranking sixth out of 40 countries in the World AI Index 2025, recently released by the Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research (WIN).

This marks the first time Vietnam has entered the top 10 globally in terms of AI awareness and readiness for adoption. The rankings are based on sociological survey data collected across 40 countries. In Vietnam, it was conducted by Indochina Research, involving 900 respondents in four major cities between December 2024 and January 2025. Read full story

– Domestic securities firms, investment funds, and prominent technology companies both in and outside Vietnam are actively positioning themselves to tap into the country’s growing digital asset and cryptocurrency market.

Recently, Dragon Capital announced a proposal for a pilot project to tokenise an exchange-traded fund (ETF). If approved by regulators, investors could purchase fund certificates using various forms of payment, including cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. With Bitcoin prices surpassing 120,000 USD globally and several countries accepting it as a means of payment, the proposal has drawn significant attention. Read full story

– Credit growth for agriculture and rural development in Vietnam rose 5.31% in the first half of 2025 compared to the end of 2024, accounting for 23.16% of the country’s total outstanding loans.
