AgroViet 2017 to take place in HCM City in September

– The 17th InternationalAgriculture Trade Fair 2017 (Agroviet 2017) is scheduled to take place in HoChi Minh City from September 21-24 with the participation of over 200 domesticand international businesses.

The information was revealed at a pressconference held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Hanoion August 25.

The event will feature 300 pavilions introducingspecial farm produce across region, safe food, and advanced scientificapplications.

It aims to promote the brand names of Vietnamesekey farm produce.

Director of the Trade Promotion Centre forAgriculture Dao Van Ho said AgroViet 2017 will be held in HCM City as this is apotential market in the southern region and the Mekong Delta.

Additionally, the city’s products such as rice,fruits and seafood have built their brand names and conquered multiple globalmarkets, he said.

The fair will create an opportunity forbusinesses to promote production, domestic sales and exports of safecommodities as well as seek foreign partners, he added.

A number of activities will be held on thesidelines of the event, focusing on the embracement of connectivity betweenlocalities in selling farm produce and safe food, as well as symposiums onorganic agriculture cultivation and hi-tech agriculture tourism products.-VNA
