– Authorities in the Mekong Delta province of An Gianghave moved 25 out of 44 households affected by eroꦬsion in 𒁏Vinh Thanh Trung commune,Chau Phu district, to a safe place.

Theinformation was released by Luong Huy Khanh, chief of the office of theprovincial Steering Committee for Climate Change, Natural Disaster Preventionand Control. Theerosion happened on July 20 morning along the Hau River and Canal No 10 on atotal of 300m. Khanhadded that earlier, the provincial Department of Natural Resources andEnvironment had warned about the area, which helped avoid casualties. Localauthorities are preparing plans to move the remaining 19 households. Theerosion was reportedly caused by the tide and prolonged heavy rains./.

Vietnam pioneers use of AI and remote sensing to moni♓tor seawater quality

According to Dr. Vu Anh Tuan, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Space Centre and head of the project, this is the first study in Vietnam to simultaneously employ Sentinel-2 satellite data, advanced machine learning algorithms, and the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud computing platform to model and monitor key seawater quality parameters.
