The Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina and the Argentinean ResumenLatinoamericano magazine held a workshop to celebrate the 125 th birthanniversary of the late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890) on May 13.
Director of the magazine Carlos Aznares said thePresident devoted his life to Vietnam ’s national liberation andcontributed to global peace, independence, democracy and socialprogress.
Argentinean expert Atilio Boron said thePresident is an eminent figure of international communist and workermovements, adding that his name has entered the world’s revolutionaryhistory as an initiator of the struggle for national liberation ofcolonial countries in the 20 th century.
PoldiSossa, President of the Argentina-Vietnam cultural association, said theUnited Nations Organisation for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO)honoured President Ho Chi Minh as hero of national liberation and greatman of culture in 1990.
Repeating his words“Nothing is more precious than independence and liberty”, Poldi said hisideology guides both Vietnam and other nations in the world.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Nguyen Dinh Thao said under theleadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by President HoChi Minh, the Vietnamese people have promoted their patriotism andheroic spirit to emerge victorious over foreign invaders.
The country has also witnessed a number of socio-economic achievementswhile actively integrating into the world, raising its position in theglobal arena.
A documentary on the biography andrevolutionary cause of the late President Ho Chi Minh was also screenedat the workshop.
Earlier, the training and educationsupplement of the magazine released a special issue on the lateVietnamese President on his centenary birthday celebration.
The 12-page edition includes articles hailing the heroic struggle ofVietnamese people against colonialism and imperialism under theleadership of the late President.-VNA
