An art programme entitled “The epic of Dien Bien” was held in Dien Bien Phu city, the northwestern province of Dien Bien, to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu historical victory (May 7,1954-2023).

Dien Bien (VNA) – An art programme entitled “Theepic of Dien Bien” was held in Dien Bien Phu city, the northwestern province of Dien Bien, to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu historical victory (May 7,1954-2023).
🏅 The programme, performed by nearly 100 actors, actresses and singers from DienBien province, consisted of two parts: Glorious memoriesand Dien Bien in new day with unforgettable songs such as “Ho keo phao”(Artillery pulling chant), “Qua mien Tay Bac” (Through the West region), “Tren doiHim Lam” (On Him Lam Hill), “Giai phong Dien Bien” (Liberation of Dien Bien), amongothers.

The event featured the stature of the 1954 Dien BienPhu Victory. The victory is the result of many factors, with the decisive onebeing the Party’s comprehensive resistance policy that covers all aspects ofmilitary, politics, economy, trade, culture, education and diplomacy, creatinga synergy strength to defeat the enemy and make a victory that “resoundedthroughout the five continents and was world-shaking.”
The second part showed DienBien in the period of integration and development. The old battlefield is now a young and dynamic city.
ཧ The art show brought viewers meaningful moments.This was also an opportunity to remind the tradition of revolutionary history,to arouse patriotic tradition, especially to remember and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who laid down their life on this land./.
As the first decisive battle of the Vietnamese Armed Forces since its establishment in December 1944, the Dien Bien Phu victory puts an end to the 9-year resistance war against the French colonialists and American intervention. The battle represents the defeat of the "Nava plan" and resulted in the signing of the Geneva Agreement on a ceasefire in Vietnam in July 1954.
Dien Bien province, with its name attached to the epoch-making Dien Bien Phu victory 70 years ago, should turn its historical heritage into assets and potential into resources, while mobilising all investment for development, stated Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh while working with the northern province's Party Committee on April 9.
69 years ago in the heart of the Muong Thanh valley, the flag “Determined to fight, Determined to win" of the Vietnam People's Army flew on the roof of the General De Castries’ bunker, marking the victory of the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
