Artists to celebrate 10th Korea festival

The 10th Korean Culture & Food Festival will begin on November 30, offering festival-goers a chance to enjoy food and music performances by popular artists from the Republic of Korea and Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - The 10th Korean Culture & Food Festival will begin on November30, offering festival-goers a chance to enjoy food and music performances bypopular artists from the Republic of Korea and Vietnam.

The three-day event includes a wide range of activities such as cookingclasses, a gameshow and raffles. More than 100 booths will be there to satisfyKorean food lovers, with dishes from Gangwon, Jeonbuk and Hamyang.

Gangwon province is the largest producer of potatoes and best quality buckwheatin the RoK.

Eighteen dancers from the Gangwon Traditional Art Troupe will perform for thefirst time to mark the 10th year of the festival in Hanoi. The dancers will perform arirang musicand drum dances at 6pm on December 1.

Korean restaurants in Hanoi will show visitors how kimchi and otherKorean food are made while Vietnamese-Korean families will demonstrate howVietnamese cuisine is prepared.

Korean artists Haha, Skull and Byul will be there to get the atmosphere going.Byul is known mostly for her ballads. She was discovered by singer-songwriterPark Jin Young when she had the opportunity to sing for him at one of hisfan-meetings, and is currently signed under Spring Entertainment.

Her song I Think I Love You was used as the theme song for the Koreantelevision drama Full House which was a hit internationally.

The drama is one of the most popular in Vietnam. The festival will seeperformances by Haha and Skull for the second time. Haha is an actor, presenterand stand-up comedian.

Vietnamese artists NIT and dance troup Lotus will perform at the festival.Lotus performed at the final round of the K-Pop Festival in the RoK.-VNS/VNA
