Hanoi (VNA) - 🐠Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Nguyen Van Doan has been elected as the first rotating President of the ASEAN Committee in The Hague (ACTH), which was put into operation recently.

The committee was established on November 6 under the acceptance of ASEAN Foreign Ministers, the letter of approval by ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh and other relevant regulations.
The Vietnamese Embassy chaired the committee’s first meeting, which was attended by chief representatives of diplomatic corps and foreign ministries of ASEAN countries in the Netherlands.
At the working session, participants reached consensus on the committee’s orientations and activities in a bid to promote the ten-member group’s image in the Netherlands and consolidate the friendship between the bloc and the host country. ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. It is the 7th largest economy in the world with a total GDP of 2.5 trillion USD.-VNA
