Hanoi (VNA) – CelebratingASEAN’s 50th founding anniversary (August 8, 1967-2017) was a focaltopic at the ASEAN Pretoria Council (APC)’s first session this year in theSouth African capital of Pretoria on January 17.
Participants agreed that apart from agrand ceremony, the APC will organise a regional seminar on ASEAN, an ASEAN-Africa exports exposition and an ASEAN sport day.
Ceremonies marking the IndependenceDay of each APC member country in South Africa and the ASEAN community will alsobe held.
The session also discussed theupcoming transfer of APC chairmanship from the Thai Ambassador to South Africato the Vietnamese Ambassador.
