ASEAN ParaGames to be held in December

This year's ASEAN ParaGames will be held in December, six months after the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, the organisers said.

This is the first time the sporting event for athletes with disabilities will not be held right after the SEA Games.

Theeighth ParaGames, which will be held from December 3 to 10, areexpected to draw about 1,300 to 1,500 participants and more than 500officials. Between 11 and 15 sports will be featured during the games.

Vietnamwill send athletes to compete in six events: track-and-field, swimming,powerlifting, along with table tennis, badminton, chess, bowling andbocia. The delegation is expected to make top four.

Last Games in Myanmar in early 2014, Vietnam ranked fourth, bagging 48 gold, 65 silver and 72 bronze medals.-VNA
