Jakarta (VNA) – The ASEAN Secretariat announced its news publication on the ASEAN Economic Community (ℱAEC) on November 21.
“The ASEAN Economic Community 2015: Progress and Key Achievements” serves as a quick reader-friendly reference, explaining the AEC’s origins, meaning, roadmaps and future benefits.
The publication starts with an overview of the historical context and the AEC Blueprint 2015. It includes reports on the economic integration progress across the region, thanks to the implementation of the blueprint and the AEC Scorecard. Regional success stories are featured to illustrate the business opportunities stemming from the community’s formation.
The publication concludes with a short chapter on the next decade, as the region embarks on a journey toward the AEC 2025.
Previously, the ASEAN Secretariat released the ASEAN Integration Report (AIR) 2015, providing a comprehensive analysis of implementation and impact of the AEC Blueprint after it was adopted in 2007.
The report highlights that regional economic integration is ongoing and dynamic, and that effective implementation of regional commitments requires broad support, including at the national level.
Its timely release contributes to deepening relevant understanding among regional policymakers, scholars, researchers and the public.
