ASEAN, Russia to update strategy on cooperation in fighting terrorism
Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) intend to adopt an updated strategy on fighting terrorism next year, TASS news agency reported, citing Russian Permanent Representative to ASEAN Alexander Ivanov.

Hanoi (VNA) – Russia and the Association of Southeast AsianNations (ASEAN) intend to adopt an updated strategy on fighting terrorism nextyear, TASS news agency reported, citing Russian Permanent Representative toASEAN Alexander Ivanov.
Theambassador is quoted by TASS as saying that Russia is working together with theASEAN to update a work plan to counter transnational crime and combat terrorism.He added that they hope to adopt the plan next year.
Ivanov also said first round of consultations on security issues involvinghigh-level experts from ASEAN nations and Russia took place this year.
According to him, the cooperation between the two sides hasbeen progressing at quite a rapid pace. He said cooperation with the ten-memberstates is underway in many fields, from politics, security, economy, trade, andagriculture to humanitarian contacts./.
