Asian artists dance together in Hanoi

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Asian dancers will perform together at theshow Dance Dance Asia — Crossing the Movements 2019 at the VietnamYouth Theatre in Hanoi.

The show features threedances by choreographers Vietnamese 3T (whose real name Pham Khanh Linh), Thai Nikii andJapanese kEnkEn.

From Vietnam, dancer choreographer 3Thas prepared a 45-minute dance entitled Se TheNao Neu... Nhung Thoi Cu Nhay Di (How It Will Be If... Let'sDance). 

The dance combines hiphop's B-boy and contemporary dance. The idea came to Linh when he went toJapan for the first time in 2015 at the invitation of Japan Foundation to takepart in the Dance Dance Asia project. 

"There are manyprejudices in Asian society that men are the bread-winner in a family,"said Linh. "When I saw Japanese men who were exhausted after working onpublic transport I felt sorry for them like others in Asian countries.

"I want to raise voicefor male dancers and help them to have position in Asian society."

The dance will feature fiveperformers including Vietnamese Cancel; Thai Cheno, Lao C-Lil, Japanese Gen Rocand Sakyo. 

The music is written byJapanese SNG and also includes Diem Xua (Diem, My Cherished OldFlame) from the album Trinh Contemporary by Vietnamese composer Ha Le. 

Choreographer Nikiiintroduces Inception - Dream In Dream In Dream.... at theshow. It combines hip hop, pop and martial arts to tell the stories ofdancers. Each individual pursues their own dream and faces the pressure ofgiving up dancing.

The dance is accompanied byThai beat boxer Wadafu*k. The performers are dancers from Japan, Thailand,Laos, Vietnam and Malaysia. 

Free-Style dance by Japanese kEnkEnfeatures performers from the Philippines, Japan, and Singapore. Itis performance by talented dancers performing different genres of hip hop,jazz, contemporary and vogue.

The artists were in Tokyotogether in two months for rehearsal. They also had a successful performance inthe Japanese capital last July. 

Launched in 2014, DanceDance Asia showcases Asian street dance talents. It aims to promotecultural exchange in Asia through the medium of street dance, one of the mostexciting and innovative forms of performing arts today.

Dance Dance Asia hasstaged performances and tours 15 times in nine cities in Asia. 

The show will begin at 7.30pm on October26 and 3.30pm on October27 at 11 Ngo Thi Nham street. Free ticketscan be picked up at the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, 27 Quang Trung street. 

The show is not suitablefor children under six. 

After Hanoi, the show will be held inBangkok on November 1 and 2./.
