The bears, one weighed 120 kilos and the other 150 kilos, wereheld in captivity about 18 years and four years by Phi Manh Tan, a local man inNinh Dan commune, Thanh Ba district of Phu Tho.
Having learnt about the regulations on the ban of keepingrare wild animals and encouraged by the forest management force, Tanvoluntarily gave the bears to authorities for protection.
The bears received health checkups, initial caring services andtechnical procedures before sending to the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre./.
