Australian President of the Senate Stephen Parry has expressed his delight at the strong development in the Vietnam-Australia relations in recent years, laying a solid ground for the two sides to upgrade their ties in the future.

– Australian President of theSenate Stephen Parry has expressed his delight at the strong development in theVietnam-Australia relations in recent years, laying a solid ground for the twosides to upgrade their ties in the future.

Parry made the statement during his meeting on October 19with Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Ngo Huong Nam in Canberra, adding thathe highly appreciates the upcoming visit by Chairwoman of the VietnameseNational Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

He also looked forward to visiting Vietnam next year as thetwo nations celebrate their 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

Ambassador Nam spoke highly of the 2013 agreement betweenthe two countries’ legislative bodies, contributing to deepening the twoparliaments’ ties.

Nam later had a meeting with President of theAustralia-Vietnam Friendship Society Andrew Wallace on the same day, during whichsaid he hopes the Australia-Vietnam Friendship Society will continue acting asa bridge for friendship between the two countries’ parliaments and people.

MP Wallace, Federal Member and Queensland’srepresentative, vowed to do his utmost to foster bilateral relations andeconomic and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Queensland State.

The Australia-Vietnam Friendship Society is joined bymore than 20 parliamentarians from different political parties inAustralia.-VNA
