Bac Giang exports nearly 10 tonnes of Thieu lychees to Japan
First batches of Thieu lychee, a specialty fruit of Luc Ngan district in the northern province of Bac Giang, in the 2021 crop left for Japan on flights arranged by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on early May 27.
The People’s Committee of the northern province of Hai Duong will organise a conference on May 18 to promote local lychee and other agricultural products.
Japan has authorised Vietnamese quarantine officers to replace their Japanese counterparts and directly supervise batches of lychee exports, which must be sterilised prior to being exported to the country, Hoang Trung, Director of the Plant Protection Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, has said.
