Bilingual school in Laos celebrates Vietnamese Tet festival

Vientiane (VNA) – The Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamesebilingual school in Vientiane on February 1 held a programme to celebrate theVietnamese Lunar New Year ♐(T꧑et) Festival 2024.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung, representativesfrom Vietnamese associations, and local officials attended the celebration. Vietnamese Tet traditional dishes and musical performances were introduced at the event. Speaking at the event, the school's Principal SivanheuangPhengkhammay said that the event aimed to help its students learn moreabout Vietnamese cultural values. Then, they will help introduce those valuesto international friends. Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung said that he washappy to see the school's teachers and students integrate well into Laosociety, but still preserve Vietnamese cultural identity. On this occasion, the ambassador presented 15 million LAK (720 USD) to support the school's Vietnamese language teaching and learning./.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
