Binh Duong to host fifth int’l women’s cycling tourney

The fifth International Women’s Cycling Tournament (Biwase Cup 2015) will take place from February 28 to March 8 in the southern province of Binh Duong.
The fifth International Women’s Cycling Tournament (Biwase Cup 2015)will take place from February 28 to March 8 in the southern province ofBinh Duong.

About 70 cyclists from 11 local teams and threeforeign teams from Thailand, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan are expected toparticipate in the event, management board representative and GeneralDirector of the Binh Duong Water Supply and Environment Co.Ltd (BIWASE)Nguyen Van Thien announced during a press conference on February 26.

Accordingto Thien, the tournament will be expanded to span 750 kilometres withnine routes through seven provinces including Binh Duong, Dong Nai, LamDong, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, finishing at Thu Dau Motcity, Binh Duong province.

Besides the three foreign guestcompetitors, the event will attract Binh Duong’s Biwase team, An Giangbotanical team, VTV Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City’s Vinamit, and other teamsfrom Hanoi and Dong Thap.

The annual tournament aims toprovide local cyclists with a good opportunity to hone their skills andlearn from the experience of foreign competitors in preparation forregional and international competitions. The event was organised by theVietnam Motor-Bicycle Sports Federation and the Binh Duong Water’sBIWASE in honour of International Woman’s Day on March 8th.-VNA
