Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to spend 180 billion VND (7.74 million USD) of the State budget’s 2018 reserves on sea dyke construction to prevent coastal erosion in the south central province of Binh Thuan.

According tothe provincial People’s Committee, the funds will be distributed among fourprojects in Tuy Phong district, Phan Thiet City and La Gi town.
The threelocalities are hotspots of severe erosions in Binh Thuan, with combined erodedcoastlines spanning 15 km, threatening more than 350 households.
Binh Thuan is among the mostvulnerable localities in Vietnam to climate change thanks to its long coast.Landslides and erosion have increasingly impacted local agriculturalproduction, infrastructure, tourism and the marine-based economy.
