Phnom Penh (VNA) – Trade between Cambodiaand Japan reached 778 million USD in the first four months of 2020, up 4percent year on year, the AKP news agency reported, citing recent statisticsfrom the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).
Of the figure, Cambodia exported 627 million USDworth of products to the Northeast Asian market.
Cambodian products shipped to Japan includeclothes, footwear and electronics, according to the Southeast Asian country’sMinistry of Commerce.
Last year, bilateral trade rose by 13 percent toabout 2.29 billion USD./.
Cambodia’s rice exports are expected to reach 800,000 tonnes in 2020, an estimated rise of 29 percent compared to 2019, according to China’s Xinhua News Agency.
Cambodia expects to export more than 5 million tonnes of agricultural products this year, the Phnom Penh Post quoted Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries senior official Ngin Chhay as saying last week.
