Phnom Penh (VNA) - Cambodian Prime Ministeꦚr Hun Sen announced on June 29 that he will order to arrest deputy opposition leader of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) Kem Sokha when the court issues an order.
Earlier, the CNRP deputy leader ignored court summonses issued on May 17 and 25 over a case involving his alleged mistress. He has been hided inside the CNRP’s headquarters since May 26 when police tried to arrest him. The lawmaker could face a prison term up to six months if convicted.
The PM asserted that there will not be any pardon for this case.
Hundreds of CNRP supporters have gathered in front of the party’s headquarters in the south of Phnom Penh on June 16 to protect Sokha.
