According to the result of the vote, eight newly- appointed ministers including Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Minister of Post and Telecommunications; Minister of Public Work and Transport; Minister of Commerce; Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Minister of Rural Development; Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction; and Minister of Cults and Religion.
Minister of Post and Telecommunications Prak Sokhon was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, replacing outgoing Hor Namhong who remains in the cabinet as Deputy Prime Minister.
Minister of Commerce Sun Chanthol was assigned as Minister of Public Work and Transport, replacing Tram Iv Tek, while Minister of Rural Development Chea Sophara replaced Im Chhum Lim to be Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction.
Analysts said that the cabinet reshuffle has shown the Cambodian government’s reform determination, particularly in the public service sectors. It was also a move by the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) to prepare for elections in 2017 and 2018.-VNA
