Cargill Cares raises fund for the disadvantaged

The Cargill Cares charity fund raised over 7 billion VND (334,000 USD) for the disadvantaged at its 16th charity festival held at the Suoi Tien cultural Park in Ho Chi Minh City on July 30.
The Cargill Cares charity fund raised over 7 billion VND (334,000 USD)for the disadvantaged at its 16th charity festival held at the Suoi Tiencultural Park in Ho Chi Minh City on July 30.

Of the sum, 3.1billion VND was contributed by some 4,500 visitors through an auction ofagricultural products. The remaining 4 billion VND came from theCargill Vietnam Co. Ltd and the US-based Cargill Inc.

After 15years of operation in Vietnam, Cargill Cares had raised over 48billion VND to support flood victims, poor students, students inmountainous and isolated areas, as well as disadvantaged children.

The fund had so far financed the building of 45 schools in remote areas across the country./.
