Hanoi (VNA) – China pledged to continue promoting cooperation withASEAN in three key political security, economic and social pillars, said ChineseForeign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying.

“China and ASEAN will continue to deepen our cooperation regarding the threepillars, namely, political security, economy and social and people-to-peopleexchanges, and make new contributions to regional peace, stability anddevelopment, she said at the regular press conference of the Chinese ForeignMinistry on June 1.

China highly values ASEAN's role and ASEAN-China relations, Hua stressed

Besides, she said China’s willingness to closely coordinate with variousparties to reach the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement atan early date and jointly promote the development of East Asia EconomicCommunity.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the ASEAN-China strategic partnershipand the ASEAN-China Year of Innovation.-VNA
