Hanoi (VNA) - General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent congratulations to State President To Lam on his election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)'s Central Committee.
The message reads:
“I am very delighted to learn that you have been elected to the position of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPV. On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and in my own name, I would like to extend my warm congratulations to you.
"Over the recent years, the CPV has thoroughly implemented the spirit of the 13th National Party Congress's Resolution, focusing on promoting the Party building, and reaping new achievements in boosting the building of socialism and the renewal and open-door cause.

Politburo member and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam has been elected as General Secretary of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), securing 100% of the approval votes.
The 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on August 3 elected Politburo member and State President To Lam as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee with 100% of approval votes, demonstrating a high level of solidarity and unity in the Political Bureau and the Party Central Committee - the Party’s highest leadership agency between the two national congresses.
Vietnam will continue to strengthen relations with neighboring countries, major powers, comprehensive strategic partners, traditional friends, and other key partners in a profound, substantive manner, constantly consolidating political trust and ensuring a stable, peaceful foreign landscape to create the highest facilitation for national development.
The Party and State of Vietnam always attach great importance to and give top priority to the development of Vietnam–China relations.
