Hanoi (VNA) – A coffee museumwas recently opened in Buon Ma Thuot city of the Central Highlands province of DakLak.

Housing more than 10,000 exhibits, themuseum is part of a project of Trung Nguyen Legend coffee-maker corporation,which spans more than 45ha in the city.

It is part of the corporation’s goalto turn Buon Ma Thuot into the world’s coffee capital.

Vice Chairman of the provincialPeople’s Committee Nguyen Hai Ninh claimed the inauguration of the museum marksthe first activity of the 2019 Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, which will be held on March 9-16, 2019.

In October, the Ministry ofAgriculture and Rural Development listed Vietnam’s 15 main farm producestaples, with coffee ranked second following rice.

Vietnam is currently the second largest coffee exporter of the world after Brazil. Thecountry expects to export 1.7million tonnes of the product this year, earning about 3.5 billion USD, accordingto the Vietnam Coffee – Cocoa Association.-VNA
