Cold weather continues in northern, north central provinces

The northern and north-central regions continue to experience cold weather while rain and thunderstorm are expected in the south-central, Central Highlands, and southern regions on January 5, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

Hanoi (VNA)💮 – The northern and north-central regions continue to experience cold weather whilerain and thunderstorm are expected in the south-central, Central Highlands, andsouthern regions on January 5, according to the National Centre for Hydro-MeteorologicalForecasting.

The northwestern regionwill see the lowest temperature of 14-17 degrees Celsius, and below 11 degreesCelsius in some areas, while the highest temperature can reach 19-22 degreesCelsius, and above 22 degrees Celsius in some areas. In the northeasternprovinces, the temperature can drop to 15-18 degrees Celsius, and even below 13degrees Celsius in mountainous areas. The highest temperature is 18-21 degreesCelsius.

In Hanoi, thetemperature is forecast to range from 16 to 20 degrees Celsius.

🐻 From January 5 to 7, thearea from Thua Thien - Hue to Ninh Thuan will see moderate and heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 100-300mm and even over 350mm insome places.

The area from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan, and the eastern part of the Central Highlands will have moderate  and heavy rain, and thunderstorms with rainfallof 50-150mm and over 200mm in some places. From the afternoon ofJanuary 5 to January 6, heavyrain and thunderstorms will be seen in some particular areas in southern provinces with rainfall of 40-70mm and 100mm in some areas./.

According to Dr. Vu Anh Tuan, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Space Centre and head of the project, this is the first study in Vietnam to simultaneously employ Sentinel-2 satellite data, advanced machine learning algorithms, and the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud computing platform to model and monitor key seawater quality parameters.

𝐆 Wutip storm ravages central Vietnam, leaving trail of destruction

ඣ Vietnam ramps up plastic waste recycling, reuse, treatment efforts

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public.
