Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ho Xuan Son on April 11 held talkswith his Colombian counterpart Patti Londono who is in Vietnam fromApril 10-12.
During their talks, the two sidesexpressed wishes to expand cooperation in many fields and highly valuedtheir initial achievements in approaching trade and investmentopportunities and cooperation initiatives in agriculture, culture,education and technology.
Both sides agreed tointensify bilateral cooperation and support each other in internationalorganisations, and at multilateral forums and interregional cooperationmechanisms, namely the United Nations (UN), the Colombia, Indonesia,Vietnam, Egypt, Turkey and South Africa (CIVETS) group andthe Forum for East Asia–Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC).
On the same day, Londono held meetings with Deputy Minister ofIndustry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and Vice Chairman of the VietnamChamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Doan Duy Khuong.-VNA

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
